Rare natural phenomena, puzzle trails, themed paths, geo-hikes and alpine pastures with cows, goats, rabbits or marmots make the region a natural playground.
The green puzzle ring
A short and entertaining hiking trail including a puzzle rally for the whole family. Along the way from Lech to the Rud-Alpe, fun and whimsical stations await, culminating in an award, a water playground, and a terrace.
Important: Please obtain the workbook from the Lech Tourist Office in advance or ask the Aadla holiday fairy about it.
Geo hiking trail Rüfikopf
Nature lovers will find easy hiking trails between lakes and gorges. Along the Rüfikopf Geo-Trail, you can discover fossils of ammonites, sea urchins, and crinoids.
Natural wonders and themed trails
Arlenzauberweg
From the Lech-Oberlech mountain station, the trail leads past the Libellensee (Dragonfly Lake) and through flower meadows to the Rud-Alpe. Over 20 stations along the way tell the stories of animals, plants, and the Arle, the mountain that gave its name to the Arlberg region.
Sea of Stone
In the Steinernes Meer (Sea of Stones), adventurous souls can find fossils, cow-foot shells, and belemnites. You can stop for refreshments at the Freiburger Hütte (Freiburg Hut) by the Formarinsee (Lake Formarin).
The nature reserve resembles Emmental cheese: Over 1000 dolines, or gypsum sinkholes, characterize the landscape.
Powerful natural wonders
In the Auer Ried-Argenschlucht gorge, you'll discover the power of water, ancient cultural landscapes, the Kanisfluh mountain, and rare plants. In Schröcken, you'll also find the glacial mill, a relic of the Ice Age.
